TRINITY

At 5:29 a.m. on July 16, 1945 the world had become a different one. Trinity – the first detonation of a nuclear bomb changed war, politics and mankind.

The subsequent use of the new weapon in Hiroshima and Nagasaki revealed the unthinkable and showed what our final days might look like, if someone or something is pressing the trigger button.

When the Soviet Army left the bases round Berlin in 1994, these Roman numerals were among the remains. Once a symbol of pride and honour, decades of corrosion turned them into a ‘doomsday’ memorial.

No changes have been made to the structures, only a relocation and reassembly to remind the 16th of the 7th.
